
Sarah Sala (head coach) served as an assistant coach for the 2009-2010 season when she enrolled in New York University's Master in Fine Arts Degree Program in poetry. She has three years copetitive experience, and now competes for the New York Rowing Association. Sarah is US Rowing Level I Coaching Certified.

Michael Lowery (novice coach) began rowing at Willmaette University in Salem, Oregon. After three and a half years of rowing in the rain, Michael moved back to his hometown of Los Angeles and began rowing and coaching at the sunny Los Angeles Rowing Club (LARC). During that time he also worked as a fitness instructor where he gained invaluable experience in teaching core strengthening and flexibility exercises. After 8 years of private coaching and fitness training Michael comes to NYU to pursue a Master's degree in Educational Theatre. He continues to teach fitness classes at a fitness studio in NYC and is proud to call him an NYU crew coach.

Meredith Mead (assistant coach) recently graduated from Columbia College where she spent four years on the Women's Varsity Rowing team. While competing for the Lions, she was the first woman in the school's history to receive First-Team All-American honors. In addition to being named an All-American, she was named All-Region twice. Meredith holds records for Columbia's rowing team in the 2k (6:50.9), 5k (1:52.7 av/500) and 10k (1:55.9 av/500). She has competed in the Crash-B World Indoor Rowing Championships 4 times, placing as high as 5th in the Junior category and 8th in the Open category. Meredith started rowing at Phillips Exeter Academy, where her boat won the New England Championships in 2006 then advanced to Nationals where they placed 6th in the grand final. She has also been recognized by USRowing twice with National Team Selection Camp invitations in 2006 and 2009.Currently, Meredith is the Sports Marketing Assistant for Columbia Athletics. She just started working towards a master's in Sports Management at Columbia University, and lives in Harlem.
