decided she wanted to major in rowing as a freshman in high school when she joined the Ridgewood Crew team. Over her four years she spent 99.9% of the time bowing a quad with either Ridgewood Crew, or on the off seasons at Nereid Boat Club and Passaic River Rowing. Sadly, due to an injury at the end of her Senior year, she can no longer row. But.. as they say... 'good things come in small packages' (and luckily Lila's short). So she took up coxing, joining the NYU Crew team in 2008. Lila is US Rowing Level I Coaching Certified, has assistant coached learn to row, and has coxed various masters, club and youth technique programs. Though she is majoring in Film and Television (with a minor in Web Programming), she likes to think she has a double Major in Film and Crew. Lila was the team captain for the 2010-2011 school year and is excited to continue in her dual role as captain/team manager again this year. Have any questions about the team? Lorraine Hu 
Before coming to NYU, the only kind of crew that Lorraine did was in the backstage area of theaters. She joined the NYU Crew team as a freshman in the fall semester of 2010, thinking that it would be nice to paddle along the waterways of Manhattan. Although crew did not end up being the soothing experience that she was naively expecting (she grew up in New Hampshire, where many think that canoeing and crew are the same thing), she still loves it and is excited to take up the role of captain this year. Lorraine is an Anthropology/Premed major, Studio Art minor, and likes long walks on the beach.
